"The Young Princes" further known as Prince Edward and the Prince of York are the children of Queen Elizabeth and King Edward vi. Prince Edward is the older brother and is the heir to the crown once his father dies. The young princes were not in the first act but were first spoken of in the second act when King Edward finally passed.As the nephews of Richard,one soon upcoming to the thrown, the Queen fears and decides that herself and her young son, Prince of York are going to hide away in the sanctuary of the church. Elizabeth does fear for her oldest son Edward as he is the heir and is coming home to fulfill his duties.This makes him a major threat towards Richard.
Prince Edward is very smart and when he comes back to York he realizes that his uncle is dangerous though he did not know to what extent. It was then convinced by Buckingham to Richard and young Edward that the Prince of York is to come and see the coronation of the brother. In agreeance, the young prince is retrieved and is brought to Richard and Edward. Edward and York were very excited to see each other, enjoying the company of the other which annoyed Richard to no end.
After being told to stay in the prison "the tower of London" they later realize that their uncle Richard is out to kill them and that though he said Dorset and Rivers false friends that he is the real false one. Before this happened Edward is suspicious and non trusting towards Richard as he was smart and could see past Richards manipulations
